Questions people ask us
The honest answers.
If yours isn’t here, message us. We’d rather answer a question than have you not come.
Do I really need therapy?
Do you need running shoes to run a marathon? Probably not. But having the right shoes can make the journey easier and kinder on you. Therapy is the same: not a requirement, but a real help.
What happens in a typical session?
Every session is tailored to you. Using evidence-based approaches, we work through what is troubling you at a pace you set. There’s no script you have to follow.
I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t work. How do I know this will?
You don’t know for certain, and that’s understandable. What research consistently shows is that the fit between you and your therapist matters more than the method. Finding the right therapist is like finding the right architect for your home: if the first one wasn’t right, it doesn’t mean the house can’t be built.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and your psychologist, within the limits every clinician in India works under. We’ll explain those limits plainly in the first session, before you share anything.
Can we do this online?
Yes. Online sessions run on a private video link and work just as well for most people. You can switch between online and in-person.
Can I come in Gujarati or Hindi?
Yes. Sessions can be in English, Gujarati or Hindi, whichever you think in.
What if it isn’t working?
Tell us. We’d rather hear it in session three than lose you after session four. We’ll change approach, or help you find someone who fits better.
